The print is signed 'Ipp˘sai Kuniyasu ga' (Utagawa Kuniyasu, 1794-1832) and depicts Nakamura Shikan (Nakamura Utaemon III, 1778-1838). It's part of a series of actor prints titled 'Edo jikan - yakusha tenganky˘' (Edo's pride - actors under a magnifying glass), published in 1818 by J˘shűya Jűz˘. The text on the print is written by Sanba Toranosuke (son of Shikitei Sanba.
