I had a feeling that there was an earlier discussion of a similar case a couple of years ago, and I was right.

Then it was a question about an actor triptych by Kuniyoshi, posted by Lena Hessing on April 23, 2015 at 18:04:52:

Paul Griffith had discovered another triptych, where the same woodblocks were re-used for depicting a different production of the play a few years later, though the cast had been partly changed:
