The artist is the Osaka master Nakai Yoshitaki (中井芳滝 also written 芳龍, 1841-1899). The print depicts the actor Jitsukawa Enjaku I (實川延若) in the role of Yokozo (横蔵) the play Honch˘ Nijushik˘. I ignore the exact date or location of this particular performance but the same design with modified blocks (a process called 'ireki'), depicting different actors in the same role, was used in 1861 and as late as 1870.

Guy.
