Thanks Alec for doing the research on this print. It's odd that the copy in the BMFA did not show up in the search on John Resig's database but it can't be 100% perfect. So it sounds like I need to take the information found on the Waseda website with a grain of salt. I knew it's attribution to the artist Toyohara Chikenobu couldn't be correct if the print was produced in 1859 as stated in another copy of the same print in their database. I'm comfortable with leaving it as an unidentified artist but you've added additional information about it's subect. Thanks for the link to Mike Lyon's database. He is a local artist here in Kansas City and I have seen some of his prints in the Kemper Museum of Modern Art and the Nelson-Atkins Museum. I may attempt to contact him, not about this print, but about his collection of ukiyo-e prints and how they have inspired his art.

Thanks again

Chris
