Well, it certainly doesn't convince me, I'll have to say. When I began studying ukiyo-e prints about 50 years ago, one of the first things I learnt was that you could identify the signature of Toyokuni II (aka Toyoshige) through the zigzag-shape of the lower half of the toyo character(豊).

Later I have noticed that some prints from the later years of Toyokuni I also carry signatures with a similarly shaped toyo character, but in the absence of other means of identification I would still suggest that Jan's print is probably the work of Toyokuni II.
