The artist is Utagawa Kunisada I (1786-1865). The actor is Ichikawa Danjurô VII (1791-1859) in the role of Matsuwakamaru in the kabuki play 'Sumidagawa hana no gosho zome', performed at the Kawarazaki theatre in 03/1820. The publisher is Uemura Yohei. The print bears a circular 'kiwame' censor seal and interestingly also an oval 'futakata' (both people) seal. The exact meaning of 'futakata' seals is not known but probably related to some publishers, including Uemura Yohei.

Guy.
