The "courtesan houses" of Yoshiwara were along the Sumida river. There is a Hatcho-bori moat on the river at Edo. Maybe that's what the author refers to.

Daikoku-ro was a first-class house (O-mise) in Ageya machi
Inamoto-ro was a third-class house (Ko-mise) in Sumi-cho
so, yes, they are different.

Now why would the signatures and titles be different, no clue, never seen that before.
