It may well be an actual woodblock print, as was the case with (most of) the images in the book I referenced. Certainly your description of the print is consistent with that of a relief print rather than a lithographic one.
But since the original work in this case was certainly a painting executed c. 1830s, I probably wouldn't use the term "original" to describe the print, whatever print technology may have been used to make it.
