Yes, this particular print genre, "kuchi-e" 口絵 refers to prints used as frontispiece illustrations in novels and literary magazines. They were popular from about 1890-1910. I have a few, some from novels, and one from a literary magazine called "Bungei kurabu" 文芸倶楽部.
