This piece is probably celebrating the artistic tradition of "Gassaku', where a group of artists got together for a social event and to commemorate that event each contributed a small painting (generally on a scroll or in an album). Each would sign their work, there might also be poems or calligraphy contributed by more literary attendees. At times the theme would be nominated, as here, the '7 Lucky Gods', I have seen 'musical instruments' and 'famous scholars'
