There is another very similar design signed 'Shunrô ga' (春朗画), most probably Katsukawa Shunrô II (fl. 1785-97, the later Utagawa Toyomaru) that gives an indication that this kind of design should date indeed from the late 18th century. These prints were memorabilia with a formalized design, sold at close proximity of the temple.
