I have recently acquired this print which was sold to me as by Toyokuni II. However, it doesn't look like the signature I'm familiar with where the grid element of Toyo is much wider at the top than the bottom and the lower part of the syllable is almost triangular. Could it be by Toyokuni I? The actor is Bando Mitsugoro III but what is the role? Is he playing Iwafuji? He certainly performed the role in 1826 and if this is what is being depicted the print must be by Toyokuni II. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Many thanks. Jeff
