Gonshiro Wakashima and Umegatani 1 were not contemporaries.
Kyuzaburo Wakashima and Umegatani 1 were contemporaries and they performed as Yasuji Inoue, the print artist, was still alive.
Gonshiro Wakashima and Umegatani 2 were contemporaries and performed only after Yasuji Inoue died.
So, Umegatani 1 and Kyuzaburo Wakashima should be the two sumos on this print, but shima is written here as two separate kanjis 山 島 rather than usual 嶋...Maybe an old writing?
