Yes, Kunichika has also produced some omocha-e and sugoroku. The one print I saw (cut out of encense boxes) was clearly signed on the left side Toyohara Kunichika. In my Jiraya print it is true the signature (followed by the usual hitsu kanji)is inserted in a piece of the diorama, but it reads neither Kunichika nor Toyohara Kunichika.Yet, it must be a somewhat well known artist to have a cartouche with his own signature within the print...The mystery remains.
Yes, I am familiar with the Chikanobu triptych of the same scene.
