It's from an 1855 series called "Dōke jōruri zukushi" 道外浄瑠璃尽し ("Collection of Humorous Scenes from Jōruri Drama" or "A Collection of Comical Ballads").

MFA Boston has an uncut impression of the sheet with this design:

The scene is from a jōruri version of "Hizakurige".
