Why would a woodblock artist recreate the image, and add background colors (as seen in the image uploaded in my original post)? When the two images are compared, an obvious reverence for the original 'cited' work appears to be the reason for the rendering of the print image which was uploaded and is in my possession.

You are suggesting that the attribution to original artist was accomplished by ta subsequent, unnamed artist who 're-created' a more complex screen print, and then attributed their artistic efforts to the original artist(who was someone so modest that they made no personal attribution on your referenced print)?
Please explain. If the original image is so notable, why is the only found reference the one you have posted? Appreciation for your knowledgable response.
