It's from a Kunisada series entitled "Kyōkaku gonin zoroi no uchi" 侠客五人揃之内, published by Wakasaya Yoichi 若狭屋與市 around 1845-1846.

The series is listed on Horst Graebner's site -- he translates the series title as "A line-up of chivalrous men".

Depicted is Kaminari Shōkurō 雷庄九郎, an "otokodate" ("street knight" or "manly paragon") character in the joruri drama "Gonin otoko" and other plays.
