There are a lot of factors to consider when trying to date a print, such as paper type, color preservation, etc. Some reprint publishers were good about adding seals or other markings to their prints to distinguish them from originals, others not so much. Also one has to consider what types of designs were extensively reprinted, and which were not (landscapes and beauties much reprinted, theatrical designs much less so).
