It’s a wrapper for some volumes of a book (usually 4 volumes).
The artist is Miyagi Gengyo, signing “Gengyo ga“ (玄魚畫) [bottom right].
Artist of illustrations: Ichiyōsai Toyokuni ga (一陽斎豊国画) (= Kunisada I) [top left].
Author of text: Mantei Ōga saku (万亭応賀作) [second row, top left].
Publisher: Kinjūdō (錦重堂) (= Iseya Rihei) [bottom left].
The book title could be “Shaka hassō yamato bunko“ (“A Japanese Version of the Life of the Buddha“) (釈迦八相倭文庫), 57 (?) volumes, created and issued 1846-1868.
I can’t say for which volumes this wrapper stands.
Horst
