Hello, dear fellow members.
I have a very polite request for your assistance with this piece. I have bought it yesterday at a local antique market, thank god it wasn't expensive. Quite quickly I have established it is a reproduction of Zenshin shonin, Rin-a version. Unfortunately, I don't have much knowledge about the original. I have inspected the one I got with a magnifying glass and it shows no signs of the digitally printed raster, however, I can't exclude a laser print as well, I just don't have enough experience with fakes to recognize a piece printed on a modern high-quality laser device.
What I find a bit disturbing is that the majority of lines that are wrinkles of the paper on the original piece here on mine are replicated with paint. That's why I think I have bought a completely newly made fake rather than a traditionally made ukiyo-e.
I was hoping I got a much later copy made c1900 but not a fresh out of the printer copy... Please let me know your thoughts...
Best regards,
Adrian
